Excerpts from Salah Workshop (DAY 1):

-The command to pray salah had been given directly to Prophet salallahu alaihi wasalam at 'Isra wal Me'raj and not through Jibreel alaihissalaam. It was given right after Prophet's salallahu alaihi wasalam heart was purified with zamzam water. And that should be our state during our salah - pure and free from distractions.

- Salaah literally means 'duaa'. To call out to Allah.

- "Verily between man and unbelief is the negligence of prayer."(!!!!!!!) [Muslim] ‪#‎hadith‬ ‪#‎takeheed‬

-"On the day of Judgement, the Salah of the person who safeguards it will be a BRIGHT LIGHT, will testify on his behalf and will FREE him (from hell). The person who forsakes Salah will find no light, no testimony, no freedom from the fire of hell, and such a person will be with Fir’aun, Qaroon, Haamaan, and Abi bin Khalaf on the Day of Judgement."  [Mishkatul Masabih] #hadith 

- Salah is a GIFT to mankind. Allah subhana wa ta'ala is calling us FIVE times a day to feel extreme peace and tranquility. Yet either we neglect it or ruin it with our lack of dedication!

- Allah, the One who Provides us with EVERYthing, without whose Mercy we're helpless, without whose Love we are NOTHING, just wants 5 prayers x 10minutes = less than an hour of our time everyday to submit to Him wholly yet we miss out. Astaghfirullah!

May Allah Give us the tawfeeq to be of the al-musalleen (ones who always pray).

Would just like to add a few points to today's Salaah class notes.

- An accepted prayer, done with khushoo' expiates the sins done before it and such a prayer is success.

To have delightful Salaah u need 4 things:

1.  Hope or rajaa'   الرجاء

2.  Fear                  الهيبة

3.  Love                 الحب

4.  Shyness         الحياء   

One shud have hope in Allah and fear...like the two wings of a bird and the love of Allah is its head. Allah SWT will be with His slave as he thinks of Him.

 قال اللہ تعالٰی انا عند ظن عبدي بي

  (Allah says I am as my slave thinks of me)

Clean shine and protect your heart. 

Pure love for Allah in heart shud show and manifest itself in action. Give proof of your live with obedience & right actions.

Uboodiyah is the highest form of love. (Higher than Uboodiyah is "khullah" I.e heart is empty of everything except love of Allah,  and only two people achieved it...Ibraheem a.s and Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alayhi wa sallam.

☀Gems: Day 4☀

"Each action in Salaah has a specific and different taste.🍡 When you are going to a friend's gathering so much food is served and each food is tastier than the other. Some are sweet,others are spicy ... Same enjoyment during your Salaah"

"Our body has many needs as well as our soul. The food of our soul is our prayer. Don't let your soul hungry"

"Imagine you are carrying a heavy bad of sand between your neck  and your shoulders and there is a hole in this bag. When going into Rukuu' the sand will consequently fall down from your shoulders. This is the state of our sins during our prayers".

"When you are driving a vehicle,  the more you push the accelerator, the fastest you go. In your prayer, the lowest you go the closest you are to Allah"

"During prayer every cell of your body should be facing the Qiblah"

"Imagine your bathroom is having a leakage and the water is falling into a bucket drop by drop. How will be the bucket after few hours? Never make any small sins because when it is collected it will become like a river"

"Those who do not remember death are not alive"

- Rasul Allah salallahu alaihi wasalam would say "Coolness of my eyes lies in Salat” (Ahmad, An-Nasa'i) ‪#‎hadith‬

Moreoever he salallahu alaihi wasalam would say "Relief us, O Bilal!" when it was time for salah and Bilal radiAllahu anhu would have to call the iqamah. 

Why did he (peace be upon him )say these two things?

In a life of tests and tribulations, we need something to hold onto. Something in which we can find RELIEF! And what better than praying to our Lord who is our Waliyy- close, protecting Friend. And who can Ease our matters without asking for anything? True sukoon can only be found in salaah with pure khushu' (humbleness and submission)!! Alhamdulillah

- When we enter salaah, we're entering a huge beautiful banquet where Allah is Providing us with endless provisions!! subhanAllah!

- When we start salaah we utter AllahuAkbar! But do we really consider Allah to be Greatest? How to answer that? Check what we preferred..salaah or some task we had to finish. We want to rush through salah but don't want to rush to salaah!!

- Our heart should be like a mirror, we should be able to reflect ourselves through it. Hence the love of Allah that resides in our heart results in a submissive salah!

- Talk to Allah, Speak to Allah, Address to Allah- we can do ALL with our Master without taking an appointment in salah!!

- It all begins from the call of adhaan. Feel the calmness of adhaan. Repeat after the muadhin for amazing ajr! When he calls out hayya as salah and hayya al falah - say la hawla wa la quwatta illa billah!

- Salah with Khushu' can only be possible by increasing the Love for Allah in our hearts. How? Ponder over his beauuuuuuuutiful creations - the greenery, animals, sustenance! subhanAllah, endless ni'amah and rahma of our Creator 

-"Seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allah ]" (2:45)!

May we strive to be of the khashi'oon - those who are humbly submissive to Allah!

Excerpts from Salah Workshop (Day 4, the final day Allahu akbar!)

- Be in an exact 90 degrees position at ruku. Along with many health benefits (so good for back problems!! subhanAllah), it shows one's humility to the Lord of all Worlds. Infact when we recite subhana rabbiyal adheem, we are doing ta'adheem of Allah. We are acknowledging the Greatness of the Lord who Blessed us with the best Blessing namely Islam without us asking for it. We're acknowledging the fact that He is fault-less, Perfect in His Names, Attributes, Mercy and Kindness subhanAllah!!

-Whatever we say about sajdah will be less. 

"A slave becomes NEAREST to his Rabb when he is in prostration. So increase supplications in prostrations.'' [Muslim] ‪#‎hadith‬

Sajdah angers our biggest enemy who refused that one sajdah which made him of the accursed. So why should we shorten let alone miss these BEAUTIFUL sajdahs??

On the Day of Resurrection, we will be united with Prophet salallahu alahi wasalam because of our sajdahs!! Hence we're getting closer to Allah AND His Messenger !!! subhanAllah! 

Ask anyone who has done a sincere duaa in sajdah, they'll tell you they haven't felt as much tranquility ever!! Hence be relaxed and take your time. Treasure every essence that is felt in sajdah!

- While doing ruku and sajdah, imagine a bag of sand with a hole in it and all the sand falling down. That bag of sand is our sins and these acts of salaah get rid of sins just like that. But we need to strive to do them patiently with khushu'!!

- We can never have khushu' (be submissive to Allah) if we don't know Him. So best to learn His attributes and His Blessings to know How Great is He and how little we are Allahuakbar!

- One of the best dua'a to do after tashahud and durood? Allaahumma 'innee 'a'oothu bika min athaabil-qabri, wa min 'athaabi jahannama, wa min fitnatil-mahyaa walmamaati, wa min sharri fitnatil-maseehid-dajjaal. SubhanAllah, the duaa comprises of things we need the most. Protection from the torments of INEVITABLE dark grave and Fire, from the trials of life and death and the evil of the scary kaafir - Dajjal! May Allah Protect us!! 

- And we end our salaah with salaam! Ask Allah for Forgiveness and Praise Him that He Blessed with the capability to pray ‪#‎Alhamdulillah‬

-If we perform salaah slowly with khushu' and not do our sajdahs like pecking cocks (VERY DISLIKED), it will never seem like we've lost time. Infact time has barakah, sins wash away and we have given the food our soul was craving for, among mannyyyy other virtues Alhamdulillah!!

SubhanAllah..everything posted is a note to me first. It wasn't even 1/10th of was lectured in class but just goes to show that we never know enough about salah!

May Allah make us of the ones who are regular in salaah, who protect their salaah, who are submissive to Him only, who will confidently answer that their salah was good on the Day of Judgement and may He Forgive us, may He Pour His Mercy upon us and may He Grant us Jannah Firdaus! Aameen ya Rabbal A'alameeen
